Gallery Statement


　 Established in 2006, Azabu　Art　Salon debued its curatorial project this past Summer, 2007. Our focus is on developing

exhibitions and hosting events that engage in the current spiritual, social and aesthetic dialogues of this increasingly globalised

world.　The artists whom we are dealing with are young and talented, and have just graduated from art colleges. They are

very different from artists who are likely to be recognized as a certain type of fashionable or temporary artists. Our gallery

artists have unflinching vision　and strong artistry that is sustainable throughout their future career.

　　Azabu Art Salon is involved in introducing gallery artists to national and international art collectors who are not

conservative but rather　iconoclastic art lovers. Simultaneously we believe that there must be imagination and communication

between artists and art collectors. It is an　inevitably crucial role for a commercial art gallery to sell cutting edge art works

to numerous collectors. Our mission is to bridge the gap between arts　and society by organizing curatorial art events.





Azabu Art Salon Tokyoは2006年に設立され、この2007年夏から企画展をスタートしたばかりの新しいギャラリーです。多様性が

増すグローバル化社会のなかにおいて、現代の精神性、あるいは社会的な芸術表現についての考察を基に、多種多様な

展覧会を開催していくことで、より発展性の見える視覚芸術の運動を推し進めていく必要性があると考えております。当社の

アーティストは、内外のオークションでもてはやされているような一過性のファッション的な表現でなく、日本発の作家である

ことに誇りを持つと同時に、世界のアートマーケットにも通用するしっかりとしたコンセプトと表現スキルを持っていることが重要

であると考えます。そしてまだ無名でも内容のある実験的で新しいタイプの作品を追い求めるコレクターに紹介することが第一

のミッションです。コマーシャル・アートギャラリーは、展覧会を企画し、作品を販売するという活動を通じて、アーティストとコレク

ターを結びつけ、アートの存在理由を現代社会に問うことで、その重要な社会的責任を担っていると考えております。展示

発表されなければ、とうてい作品は作品足りえません。作品がコレクションされることによって、アートのイマジネーションと

コミュニケーションが作家とコレクターの双方で循環的に発生することが今後ますます求められています。
